Awana Grand Prix
The Awana Grand Prix is a racing event similar to a Pinewood Derby. During the event clubbers race small wooden cars that they’ve crafted with the help of a parent or other adult. The race track has 4 straight "lanes". The cars will race down the track in "heats" of 4 cars. Cars are held behind a starting gate. When the gate drops, gravity will propel the cars down the sloped track.
It is a wonderful opportunity for clubbers to work with their family (parents, grandparents, helpful adult) to design and build a great racing car! Invite your family, extended family, and friends to enjoy the race day with you!

Buy a Car Kit - You MUST use the basic car kits purchased at the sale/pick up event. After this event, kits will be available to purchased through the church office.

Modify and Embellish your Kit - As you desire, reshape it, add weight, paint it, attach embellishments, and make it your.
Number Your Car - Include your kit number on your car, either in the design or on the underside. Car numbers are included with your kit.
Register Your Competed Car - Cars must be completed and turned in by TBD.

There will be 2 classes of cars: Sparks and T&T
Cars will be judged for both speed and design.
In each class, cars will be awarded 1st to 3rd place for speed and 1st to 3rd place ifor design.
