Puggles and Cubbies
Start date is To Be Determined - Read below for more information
Hello AWANA Families,
Welcome back to Awana! Here is the information that you need to know for the first night! Skim for the sections that pertain to your family.
We have about 180 children registered for Awana! But I am sure there are more on the way!
www.cc-awana.weebly.com is a great website to check out for answers to many of your questions.
The Awana Calendar is available here and on the club website. Copies will be available at Awana each week. For Cubbies and T&T, the calendar lists the sections that are due each week. For all clubs, the calendar lists the fun theme nights! Be sure to check them out!
1) Register NOW! Avoid the Line! Check out the “Joining Awana” page on our website. Download and fill out the registration form, then email it back to me! You may scan it or photograph it. Please drop off the original on the first night of Awana!
2) Wait for Wednesday – Stand in a long line! You must register before heading to class. Wednesday, registration will be on the second floor, just inside the glass doors. Check in with Nancy and fill out a registration form then your children will receive name tags that will allow them to enter their classrooms. You may come as early as 6:30.
Still need books and uniforms? You may buy them any Wednesday night on the 2nd floor, room 200, with Laurie, our NEW Awana secretary. She is there from 6:45 to 8:40. NOTE: The first night, Laurie will NOT be taking registrations, so please don't stand in her line to register; instead, head to the second floor - see above note. Buying a uniform? Please have your child with you for correct sizing. Uniforms are not needed for the first night.
PUT A NAME ON IT! Every night we have a collection of lost and found, identical, no-name books and uniforms. Put a name on every uniform. They often come off when children play or get hot. Put your child's name on the handbook, in a few places as the covers may fall off! Since all the handbooks look the same, putting special stickers on the front cover will help your child quickly identify their handbook.
What time? Awana drop off begins at 6:45. Awana begins prompty at 7:00 and ends at 8:30.
Sparks will be in rooms 201-207. Room assignments will be posted on the doors.
Kindergarten – rooms 202 and 207
First Grade – rooms 203 and 204
Second Grade – room 201 and 205
T&T (3rd-6th grade) will be dropped off and pick up in the first floor fellowship hall
Puggles – will not be starting this week. Please do not try to drop them off. The Puggles leaders are new this year and will be having a training night on Sept 11 and will not be prepared to accept your 2-year-old children. Instead, if you plan to stay for church, they may go to the nursery.
Cubbies - will not be starting this week. Please do not try to drop them off. The Cubbies leaders are new this year and will be having a training night on Sept 11 and will not be prepared to accept your 3 and 4-year-old children. In the meantime, you should start to work on the Apple Acres booklet and learn the first 2 verses!
When will Puggles and Cubbies Start? Thank you to all of the MANY people who responded to the call for Awana Leaders!!! We are blessed with a mostly new staff for our pre-schooler (2-4 year olds). They have not been fully trained and several are not yet cleared to serve. We will begin Puggles and Cubbies by the first week in October, perhaps sooner!! 😊 Once we have enough approved and cleared staff for these classes, we will open them. Please keep an eye out for that email. Please continue to register your 2, 3, and 4-year-old children so that we can be fully prepared for them!
If I have not answered your questions, please feel free to respond to this email.
We are looking forward to a great year and seeing you all on Wednesday by 7pm!
