Hello AWANA Families,
We are very pleased to tell you that we are starting our Puggles and Cubbies classes this week, September 18! We have been blessed by quite a few new leaders who are now trained and ready to meet your children!
On our first night of Awana, we had 71 Sparks and 61 T&Ters! Wow, it was a hopping night!
Crazy Hair Night - This week we will have a fun theme night, Crazy Hair Night! Have fun creating a crazy "do." Add color. Add hair accessories. Be creative! Click here for some ideas!
As a reminder, parents should be helping your children memorize their verses during the week. On Wednesday night, the children will recite their verses to a leader and demonstrate what they have learned. This time during the week is a great time to build spiritual relationships with your children and memorize verses too!
Gym Shoes / Sneakers - each week all the clubbers will have a time in the game room. Please send your children to club in athletic shoes. Also, girls should wear shorts or pants as we will be running around and sitting on the floor.
Put Your Name on It - each year we have a collection of lost books and uniforms with no names. Please help us return these items to you by putting names on all items, even your children's outerwear.
Puggles (2 year olds) will meet in room 208. Jennifer Martin is our new Puggles Director. She will coordinate our leaders and oversee our 10 new Puggles! I expect we may even have a few more this week?!
Cubbies (3-4 year olds) will be in rooms 206, 209, 210. Class assignments will be at each door. Ginger Katzenmoyer will continue as our Cubbies Director. She will coordinate our Cubbies leaders, many whom are new, and oversee our 50 current Cubbies and those who will be joining use in the next few weeks.
We are praising God for all HE had done to prepare us for this club year. We are excited to see all that HE will do this week as we add our little ones to the Awana night. We look forward to all God will teach us this club year. Thank you for the privilege of teaching your children.
AWANA Ministry Director
Awana is about giving parents tools to help spiritually train up your children. The goal of Awana is to share the Gospel of Christ with your young ones and teach them His words found in scripture. As we begin this year, I am thinking of what kind of a foundation we hope to pass on to your children. I am thinking of WHO we want to pass on to your children. As the days grow long and at times we grow weary, when you need to decide where to spend your energy, let us labor together to build that solid foundation of God's truth into the lives of your children. The Awana leaders are here to be a resource for your family.1 Peter 2:4-8 Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, 5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion A chief cornerstone, elect, precious, And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.” 7 Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient, “The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone,” and “A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense. “They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.
